The award ceremony for prizes and grants, together with the invitation of applicants for next year’s awards, was held on October 5th, 2005, in the main auditorium of the Institute of Continuing Education of the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona. Before the ceremony, Dr. Juan Carlos Izpisúa, Professor from The Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Director of the Centre for Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona, gave a lecture entitled Stem cells and regenerative medicine.
