The Foundation, through the activities it organizes, provides a forum where the issues which most concern academics, the authorities, laboratories and the general public can be aired. The projects which the Foundation supports, together with the seminars and discussion groups it coordinates, are the result of initiatives put forward by the members of the Board of Trustees, who represent a wide range of disciplines, and by a variety of groups and individuals. These initiatives have played a vital role in establishing the overall direction of the Foundation’s work, and clearly respond to some of the ethical issues which are most deeply felt among society as a whole. |
