Ethics and Research against the Crisis

Around 100 people attended the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation Bioethics Research Prizes and Grants Ceremony

The ceremony started with a lecture titled: "Are we learning from the economic crisis? The place of ethics in the economy", delivered by Adela Cortina, professor of Moral and Political Philosophy at the University of Valencia.

 

After the lecture, the awards were presented to the winners. The research prize, doted with 6,000 euros, was given to Eduardo Alfonso Rueda Barrera, professor at the Javeriana University in Bogota for the project: Incertitude, autonomy and use of predictive genetic testing: Beyond individual consent.


The journalistic prize, worth 3,000 euros, was given to Raquel Cors, for the television documentary "Zeladors" (Orderlies), which was broadcast by Spanish national television (TVE) on April 10, 2010 in the program "Gran Angular" (The Wide Angle). The jury also awarded four research grants for projects to be completed the following year.
