1984 saw the birth of Victòria Anna, the first child in Spain to be born following in vitro fertilization. To mark the 30th anniversary of this event, the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation has published the monograph Treinta años de técnicas de reproducción asistida (Thirty years of assisted reproduction techniques) with the aim of providing an overview of the application of these techniques during the last three decades.

The monograph brings together contributions from a number of experts in the field, including Dr. Anna Veiga, Scientific Director of the Reproductive Medicine Service at Quirón-Dexeus University Hospital, Dr. Pere N. Barri, Director of the Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproduction Department at Quirón-Dexeus University Hospital, and Guido Pennings, Professor of Ethics and Bioethics at the University of Ghent.
