Individual and collective causes of health problems: whose responsibility is it?

The seminar will take place on December 4 in Barcelona

The Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation and the Spanish Society of Public Health and Healthcare Administration (SESPAS) are organizing on December 4, in Barcelona, the fourth meeting on ethics and public health that this year has been titled "Individual and collective causes of health problems: whose responsibility is it?". 

This seminar, which will be offered to a limited number of invited participants, will reflect on the responsibility of each individual and of society in general in relation to their own health and that of others. The conference papers will focus on the causes of individual and collective health problems, personal responsibility and boundaries, and collective and professional responsibility.

Andreu Segura, public health physician with the Department of Health at the Generalitat de Catalunya and associate professor of Public Health at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra.

Àngel Puyol, professor of Ethics and Philosophy at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and head of the department of Philosophy at the same university.

José Miguel Carrasco, investigator on the ATLANTES program at the Culture and Society Institute of the University of Navarra.

Victòria Camps, emeritus professor in Moral and Political Philosophy from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and president of the Víctor Grifols i Lucas Foundation.

Begoña Román, Ethics lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona.

Pere Ibern, researcher at the Health and Economics Investigation Center and and lecturer at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics.
