Terribas, who has had a long career in the field of bioethics, has been the head of the Borja Institute of Bioethics at Ramón Llull University for the last fifteen years. She is a legal expert, specializing in the fields of bioethics and biolaw. She is a member of and a legal advisor to a number of ethics committees at health institutions across Spain, and is also a member of the Bioethics Committee of Catalonia and the National Bioethics Committee of Andorra.

In addition, she has authored numerous articles and book chapters on bioethics and law, and has spoken at a number of bioethics events both in Spain and internationally since 1992.
