II Webinar COVID-19: the role of bioethics
On 30 April at 5:30 pm
The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting health crisis have prompted uncertainty and debate, and raise a whole host of ethical questions. The response has included documents setting out advice, guidelines and recommendations to support the health professionals working with patients and their families to fight this disease. At the same time, the compulsory lockdown raises a number of issues that we are keen to discuss.
After several difficult weeks, we opened up debate, providing a virtual space where we can hear the voices of a range of experts and provide a forum for the contributions of those attending.
The UVic-UCC Grífols Foundation Chair of Bioethics organized this sessions via the UVic–UCC ZOOM platform.
With the participation of:
Àngel Puyol, Professor of Philosophy, UAB
Olga Rubio, Clinical Head of Intensive Care Medicine, President of the Ethics Committee at Althaia, Manresa
Jordi Amblàs, Geriatrician. Attached to Acute Geriatric Unit, Vic University Hospital
Session chaired by Núria Terribas, director of the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation, and Ester Busquets, coordinator of the UVic–UCC Grífols Foundation Chair of Bioethics.
