Science and ethics after the pandemic

3 June at 18:00

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how vulnerable we are, both as individuals and as a society, but responses to this crisis have varied greatly, reflecting not only differences in the resources available to us but also the strength of our ethical values.

Huge medical progress has been made in controlling the pandemic. But what should the priorities be? Is it a competition or should different industries, states and territories pool their efforts? Will the common good be prioritized over private interests?

Salvador Macip, doctor, researcher and author of Viurem per sempre?, will discuss these questions with Núria Terribas, director of the UVic–UCC Chair of Bioethics, in this Zoom webinar. Marina Geli, coordinator of the Centre for Health and Social Studies (CESS) and of the Foundation for Health Science Studies (FESS) at Uvic-UCC, will chair the session.

Event organized by Editorial Eumo, CESS and UVic–UCC Chair of Bioethics.
