Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation and the Catalan Film Academy are organising two film sessions and debates for secondary school students with the documentary "Diary of my sextorsion".
This documentary explores the ransomware attack suffered by the protagonist. After the theft of her laptop, a hacker tries to extort money from her, threatening to share some very intimate photos with her contacts. Faced with the ineffectiveness of the police and the legal system, the protagonist embarks upon an investigation of the dangers associated with private data in today's society. The documentary questions our apparent sense of security with respect to our personal data, contrasted with the vulnerability of our situation.
The debate will feature Patrícia Franquesa, director of the documentary, and Núria Terribas, director of the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation.
Sessions:
24 April. Caldes de Montbui
16 de maig. Parets del Vallès
Montserrat Colominas and Glòria Cantarell, from Dret a Morir Dignament (DMD), will give a talk on advance directives, answering questions and opening the floor for discussion with all those interested in advance care planning.
Discussing the end of life and death is still considered taboo in our society, which can make it challenging to contemplate and make decisions regarding how we would like it to be. Nevertheless, it is important to plan for these situations, especially in the case of terminal illness, to ensure that the responsibility does not fall on others, such as family members and healthcare professionals.
Planning for these decisions before these situations arise is a responsible approach that also safeguards the patient’s autonomy in case it is compromised. Yet it is important to think them through, ask for advice and to share such decisions with other people in our lives.
