Horizontes de la bioética
(Horizons of bioethics)
A publication resulting from the Second International Bioethics Congress held at the University of Vic on November 17 and 18, 2022, coordinated by Núria Terribas and Ester Busquets and published by Herder under the title “Horizons of Bioethics.” In the current context dominated by scientific and technological development, bioethics is presented as an indispensable discipline to guide us towards a future where science and the humanities coexist.
This book brings together the contributions of the conference speakers, who reflect on the impact of biotechnologies, the challenges in the teaching of bioethics, the ethics applied to the pandemic situation, and the taboo surrounding death in cases such as transhumanism and euthanasia.
The authors' goal is to promote critical thinking through an essential resource for academics, health professionals, educators, and anyone interested in understanding and addressing the complex bioethical issues that define our time.
