12. La gestión del cuidado en enfermería

La ética del cuidar plantea que hay una dimensión ética intrínseca en el cuidar que enriquece el discurso ético sanitario y ayuda a situarlo desde la perspectiva del usuario, paciente y familia que reciben la atención. Cómo cuidan las enfermeras plantea una noción acerca de lo que debe hacerse y cómo llevarlo a cabo y adquiere una relevancia importante si de verdad se quiere dirigir el modelo asistencial hacia el cliente, paciente o usuario. En la organización de un servicio sanitario hay que considerar los principios básicos del cuidado profesional como mínimo con la misma importancia que los principios básicos del tratamiento de las enfermedades.
