She is a jurist, specializing in the fields of bioethics and biolaw. She has almost 30 years of professional experience in the field of bioethics, and is the Director of the Víctor Grifols i Lucas Foundation and of the UVic–UCC Chair of Bioethics. She is Vice-president of the Bioethics Committee of Catalonia, member of the Health Advisory Board, and legal advisor to a number of ethics committees at health institutions across Spain, and is also a member of the Commission of Guarantees and Evaluation of Catalonia on the law of euthanasia.
In addition, she has authored numerous articles and book chapters on bioethics and law, and has spoken at a number of bioethics events both in Spain and internationally since 1992.
