Roser Fernández currently serves as the General Director of the Catalan Hospital Unió and the Fundació Unió. An economist specialising in public health, she has held senior positions within the Catalan Health Service and Department of Health of the Generalitat, where she served as General Secretary from 2010 to 2016.

She has also managed the Guttmann Institute and actively participates in various boards and committees across the health and social sectors. Combining management with university teaching, she has received several awards recognising her leadership and innovation in healthcare.
