Mission and objectives

The Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation was created in 1998 with the mission of promoting bioethics through dialogue between specialists in a range of areas. The Foundation seeks to foster ethical attitudes in organizations, companies and individuals active in the field of human health. To achieve this, it offers a discussion platform that provides a forum for the exchange of different perspectives on the ethics of life.

To promote research in specific areas of bioethics by awarding grants and prizes.

To organize conferences, seminars and workshops that raise awareness of and explore the ethical issues that are constantly encountered in the life and medical sciences.

To produce publications disseminating the work of the Foundation, and other documents relating to bioethics.

To work with organizations, universities and other educational institutes to conduct research work and to produce publications that contribute to a deeper understanding of the ethics of life.

The Board of Trustees

The principal governing body of the Foundation is responsible for representing, governing and administering the Foundation. One of its main functions is to represent the Foundation in events and contracts, and to draw up its program of events. It is comprised of members who are recognized for their achievements in different areas of study and research in bioethics:
