For the second edition of the Josep Egozcue Lectures, the Foundation invited Dr Eric Cassell, Professor of Public Health at Cornell University’s Medical College and a member of the Hastings Center in New York. Dr Eric Cassell, one of the leading figures in the development and dissemination of bioethics, devoted this series to the theme of ‘The person as the subject of medicine’. This booklet includes the three lectures in the series: What is a person? What is a patient?  What is the autonomy of the patient?
