(Gender Bias in Health)

Throughout history, women have suffered from a lack of recognition in various areas of society. This situation, also evident in the field of health, persists today. Health differs between women and men due to their biological traits, but also because of differences in exposure to risk factors and in the healthcare they receive.

Indicators such as self-perceived health, morbidity, mortality, access to healthcare resources, and vulnerability to certain diseases are used to measure these inequalities and are key to improving the prevention and treatment of health conditions.

This publication explores gender bias in health, from a philosophical perspective and through its main repercussions in different areas of the healthcare field.
