Ethical dialogue and bioethical perspectives on science
November 4 and 6, 2015
The foundation contributed to the 9th edition of the "Teachers and Science" program, organized by Fundació Catalunya – La Pedrera, with a new course on bioethics for high school teachers. The course considered the conflicts raised by biomedical and technological progress, and identifies how to address these issues in a way that is accessible to students.
The course addressed issues such as genetic modification, the limits of human reproduction, and research with live human subjects. It was delivered by Marcel Cano, Lecturer in Ethics at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, and Sergio Ramos, philosopher and Master in Citizenship and Human Rights at the University of Barcelona.
