Homelessness and end of life

20 November at 6:30 p.m.

Anyone who ends up living on the street faces not only the material hardships of their environment but also increasing social vulnerability and a gradual process of social disconnection, which often leads to their invisibility as an individual.

These factors highlight that homelessness is marked by severe social exclusion. In addition to the challenges described above, some individuals must also face the reality that they may be nearing the end of their lives. The difficulty in accessing available public resources and the barriers this group faces are common at this stage, which is often characterised by loneliness and a lack of support.

For those of us on the other side, it raises questions, reflections, and fears, all of which can, if we allow it, lead us to a process of learning and growth.

This activity will explore how the homeless are supported in such circumstances, through a talk given by Paola Contreras from the Arrels Foundation, an organisation dedicated to caring for vulnerable people living on the streets.
