Let’s talk about Life at the End of Life

22 May at the CCCB

Our society often exists with its back turned to death; professionals who deal with death on a daily basis or those who have felt it first-hand are the only ones who need to adapt to the situation the best way they can. Reflecting on, discussing, and contemplating death prepares us for those times when we find ourselves in this situation. Being aware of available resources, knowing how to access and use them when needed, and knowing what our rights are in the decision-making process and in other situations are the objectives of this event offered by the Foundation.

To meet these objectives, we offer the voices and expertise of individuals working in various fields of end-of-life care. Discussion will include the ethical issues that arise in connection with vulnerability and ageing, how they affect personal autonomy, insights from the medical and social spheres, support from the institutions dedicated to guiding and assisting individuals, and an examination of relevant legislation.

The event will feature: Victòria Camps (philosopher and president of the Fundació Víctor Grífols i Lucas), Jordi Amblàs (head of Integrated Social and Health Care of the Catalonian Department of Health), Cristina Vallès (president of Dret de Morir Dignamente Catalunya [Right to Die with Dignity of Catalonia, DMD]), and Núria Terribas (lawyer and director of the Fundació Victor Grífols i Lucas).

Registration will open soon.
