Participation in document on ethical decisions in health emergencies

It includes recommendations for intensive care units (ICU)

The Grifols Foundation Chair of Bioethics, working in partnership with the C3RG research group and the Chair of Palliative Care at UVIC-UCC, has helped draw up a document containing recommendations for intensive care units (ICU) with respect to difficult ethical decisions in emergency situations, such as those arising from the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The document, drafted by the ethics group of the Spanish Intensive Medicine Society (Semicyuc), has been approved by 18 scientific societies and other bioethics institutions. The issues it addresses include ethics in decision-making, prioritization, the principle of proportionality, and transparency, and it is designed to be a tool to assist health professionals and institutions in Spain at a time when the system is under severe stress.

Activities temporary suspended

All lectures, courses and seminars are cancelled until further notice!

As a result of the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have no choice but to cancel all scheduled activities for the coming weeks. This means that all lectures, courses and seminars will be cancelled, with the exception of online activities.

We hope to be able to reschedule these activities at some point. In the meantime, please follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, where we will continue to share information about bioethics.

Savia group contributes to the Foundation

Donation will support bioethics activities

On 17 February, representatives of Savia, a company specializing in industrial engineering, visited the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation to present a donation to support the Foundation's bioethics activities.

As part of its corporate responsibility policy, Savia allocates a share of its profits to social activities. This company, which produces cutting-edge technology, values the people who work for it as one of its biggest assets. And, in line with this philosophy, the firm is committed to giving back to society in recognition of how much it has received.
