null Conferències Egozcue I. El bé comú i el bé individual en bioètica

In 2007 the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation launched the Josep Egozcue lecture cycle, which aims to keep alive the memory of the Foundation's first vice-president. Each year an expert in bioethics is invited to give a series of lectures about issues of relevance to today's world. The first of these was given by Professor Daniel Callahan, director of the International Programme of the Hastings Center in New York on 1 October 2007, as part of the awards ceremony.

In his three lectures, Callahan addressed the following questions:
  • Medical progress: what should we seek and what should we limit?
  • Is there a place for the market within an equitable health system?
  • Declining birth rates and ageing societies: is there a solution?
