null Peter Singer: "Governments should raise taxes to help the most underdeveloped countries"

Barcelona, 27 June 2014./ Peter Singer, an internationally renowned philosopher, yesterday opened the 7th Annual Josep Egozcue Lectures, organized by the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation. Singer argued that, "Governments should raise taxes to help the most underdeveloped countries," because "in order to do good on a global basis, it is often necessary to harm the interests of others." This was one of the principal conclusions of the first session in the cycle organized by the Foundation, which ends today with the lecture "Animal Liberation: Past, Present and Future."
