null Peter Singer: "Human beings should avoid cruelty to animals and ensure they are treated well"

Barcelona, 27 June 2014./ The Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation's 7th Annual Josep Egozcue Lectures came to a close yesterday with Peter Singer's lecture on the Animal Liberation Movement, the main goal of which is the defence of animal rights. He argues that, "it has been shown that animals express emotions and can feel pain and happiness, and these elements form the basis of the argument in favour of their rights." The event included a discussion session in which a range of philosophical questions regarding the relationship between animals and humans were raised.
