Unwanted loneliness in the digital era

23 May

Seminar in partnership with Fundación Mérmora to discuss the most important aspects of unwanted loneliness in the digital era with a group of experts.

There are numerous initiatives designed to provide support for elderly people who live alone. Instruments based on artificial intelligence algorithms, social robotics, and apps relating to health or social issues... Are these all valid and do they reflect people's needs? Do they respect the autonomy and privacy of the citizens to whom they are addressed? Are we responding with methods that are accessible to people who often suffer from the digital divide?

All these subjects were addressed in the seminar, as part of the cooperation between the Víctor Grifols Foundation and Fundación Mémora, established in 2019. This initiative is part of the Ciudades que Cuidan project (Cities that Care), whose main objective is to prevent the death of people in situations of vulnerability and unwanted loneliness.
