null Health problems are not directly linked to the reduction in resources available to the health system

Barcelona, 20 September 2013./ The health problems currently faced by society are due to factors such as long-term unemployment, the lack of benefits and dealing with the consequences of eviction, rather than the reduction of resources allocated to the health sector. This was one of the main conclusions of the discussion organized by the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation and the Spanish Society for Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS), held at the School of Public Health of Mahón.

The panel discussion included Ildefonso Hernández, Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Miguel Hernández University, Begoña Román, Professor of Ethics at the University of Barcelona; Àngel Puyol, Director of the Department of Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and was chaired by Andreu Segura, Office Director of the Interdepartmental Plan for Public Health of the Government of Catalonia.
