null The use of medicines and the right to health production in times of crisis

Madrid, April 2011./ Is it possible that, in the current economic crisis, we have forgotten to care adequately for patients? Does money outrank morals when we have to tighten our belts? These were some of the questions that over 150 experts sought to address at the 2nd Seminar on Human Rights, Ethics and Medicines, to be held on 11 and 12 April in Madrid.

The meeting, organized by the Pharmaceutical Care Foundation and the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation, will take place at the University of Alcalá, in Madrid, and brings together leading experts in ethics and health economics to discuss the current economic situation in the health sector, from a moral, ethical and philosophical perspective. "We live in a time when technology takes precedent over analysis, and we asked if we needed to consider why we act as we do," explains Carmen Alberola, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Care Foundation and one of the organizers of the seminar.
