The project uses a theoretical approach involving bioethical principles and their historical development, in order to understand how they guide decision-making in complex healthcare situations. One of the project’s main foci is the role of clinical ethics committees, which are the bodies responsible for ensuring that human rights and patient dignity are ensured in clinical practice.
The study includes interviews with professionals, attendance at meetings of the Clinical Ethics Committee of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital and participation in training sessions, which offered a direct perspective on the committee’s functioning and its impact on the resolution of ethical conflicts. Finally, an interactive presentation in the form of a mini-game was developed to simulate the dynamics of a healthcare ethics committee, with the aim of communicating the importance of these deliberative spaces in a clear and accessible manner.
