Webinar: Citizen participation and COVID
30 November, 16:30 to 18:30
For several years, we have been organizing an annual seminar with the Spanish Society for Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS) to discuss key issues in public health. Unfortunately, this year we are unable to meet in person, and we have therefore chosen a virtual format with three sessions, on 30 November, and 2 and 3 December, which participants can attend via Zoom.
Webinar, 30 November. Citizen participation and COVID.
What does citizen participation mean? Whose voices need to be heard? Is it always desirable and appropriate? In which situations is it essential?
This webinar addresses these issues and seeks to identify both the challenges and opportunities of citizen participation in the different stages of the pandemic.
School protocols, the use of masks by particular groups and access to public spaces are some examples where citizen participation mechanisms could be used to ensure that the voices of all stakeholders are heard.
We will talk to:
- Fernando Pintado, profesor de la UAB y consultor.
- Astrid Wagner, Scientist at the Institute of Philosophy at Spain's Scientific Research Council (CSIC)
- Jordi Giró, President of the Confederation of Neighbourhood Associations of Catalonia (CONFAVC)
The session will be chaired by Andrea Burón, Epidemiologist at Hospital del Mar.
The webinar format is a panel discussion with three speakers. This will be followed by a debate with a number of invited experts. The audience will be able to participate via chat.
Webinar organized in coordination with the Spanish Society for Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS).
